Abstract Antimony doped CdS nanocrystalline thin films were prepared by galvanostatic deposition using an organic solvent (Ethylene Glycol). The effect of Antimony concentration on optical, morphology and crystal structure of the prepared films were studied and investigated. The absorption values increase with increasing the antimony percentage in the film indicating a decrease in the energy band gap values. The dye sensitized solar cells using CdS:Sb with different Sb percentages were completed and measured. Preliminary results of the prepared solar cells give good open circuit voltage (0.97 V) and short circuit current density (3.5 mA/cm2) which encouraging this new type of the dye sensitized solar cells.
