Fluorescence is a leading signal transduction method for the development of chemosensor. Conjugated polymer-based fluorescent chemosensors have shown great promise in the detection of trace analytes and explosive vapors. In this work, a new conjugated copolymer was obtained by the polymerization of 2,7-(9,9-bis[3,5-bis(benzyloxy)benzyl]fluorenyl) (M-1) and 1,4-divinyl-2, 5-dibutoxybenzene(M-2) through Pd-catalyzed Heck reaction. The dendritic compound was prepared by coupling benzyl bromide functionalized first generation (G-1) of benzyl ether dendron (2) with 2, 7-diiodid fluorene (1) at the 9,9-position of fluorenyl unit. The dendritic structure was incorporated to improve polymer solubility and prevent aggregation of polymer chain. The monomers and polymer were characterized by NMR,MS,FT-IR,UV,fluorescent spectroscopy,GPC,elemental analysis and thermal analysis. The polymer thin films showed high fluorescence quenching sensitivity towards nitro-substituted compound such as nitrobenzene and 2, 4-dinitrotoluene (DNT), indicating that it has the potential to be used as sensing material for explosive detection.
