Some methods of purification for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesized by arc discharge method in liquid environment in the vicinity of some transition metal oxide elements such as Ni and Ni-Fe as catalyst

In this work, the effect of acidic treatment involve an agent such as mixed acid HNO3/H2SO4 were investigated on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) . MWCNTs have been oxidized using a mixture of sulfuric and nitric acids .The morphologies of CNTS were observed with a scanning electron microscopy ( SEM ) and a transmission electron microscopy ( TEM ) .It is found that the molar ratio of ½ is not useful for purification and approximately all of CNTs were vanished in this combination.
