Lateral Stark effect on an exciton in a quantum coin

The effects of an applied lateral electric field is on confined states confined in a InAs quantum coin is studied in the effective mass approximation and within the variational approach. We consider that the confinement is described by an harmonic quantum well. We show that the problem is reduced to resolve a relative motion in Schrödinger equation. The results obtained for the relative ground state. We studied the behavior of the binding energy, virial coefficient and oscillator strength.
