We express the conductance through nanolinks connecting 2 electrodes in terms of phase-shifts which satisfy the Friedel sum rule, starting from the expression obtained by the Green function formalism. The existence of interference terms between different channels is shown. This leads to the importance of considering multiple orbitals in the link. We examine the way of connection of electronic states between nanolink and electrodes in detail, by looking at the structure of the self-energy part of the Green functions. We can show the maximum value of the conductance for various cases. The condition of obtaining the conductance of integer multiples of the quantum unit (2e2/h) is also shown.
