We are investigating transport mechanisms in Hexaflourophosphate doped PolyPyrrole films synthesized through electropolymerization on low conductance discontinuous gold films. The thickness of polymeric films obtained is comparable to the thickness of the ultrathin gold films there by demonstrating an alternative approach towards fabrication of metal-polymer-metal nanojunctions. The thin composite films are more conductive than the discontinuous gold films but their conductivity is lower than that of their bulky counterparts. The conductance of the composite films is strongly temperature dependent. |
