Over the last decade, interest in polymeric materials containing dispersed inorganic nano-particles (nanoclays) has skyrocketed due to the potential for significant advances in mechanical, thermal and flammability properties. The goal of this project is to create well homogeneous dispersed nanoclays by mw plasma polymerization of Methyl Methacrylat monomers on their surface for many novel engineering applications (dental application). In this work, Experimental results on the deposition of polymer films on nanoclays are presented. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) has been performed to characterize the coated nanoclays. Fundamental deposition mechanics involving interfaces and related properties are also presented.
