Travel to Stockholm
Stockholm has two international airports Arlanda that is situated 43 km north of Stockholm and Skavsta that is situated 100 km south of Stockholm.

Local transportation upon arrival at Arlanda Airport
Airport coaches leave Arlanda airport (Stockholm’s international airport) every 5-10 minutes for the City Terminal in central Stockholm. The bus ride takes approximately 35 minutes and costs SEK 95 (one-way ticket), a return ticket is SEK 175 (September, 2006). Please visit www.flygbussarna.se for further information.

From Arlanda Airport there is a direct train connection to the Stockholm Central Station, the Arlanda Express Train. The journey takes about 20 minutes, cost SEK 200 one-way ticket, a return ticket costs SEK 380 (September, 2006). The train leaves every 15 minutes from Arlanda Airport, and is specially designed with extra space for luggage. Please visit www.arlandaexpress.com for further information.

Taxis are available outside the arrival hall at Arlanda airport. Prices may vary considerably, so you are advised to ask for the price before entering the taxi. Many taxi companies offer a fixed price of SEK 390 from Arlanda airport to Stockholm city centre (SEK 475 from Stockholm city centre to Arlanda airport) and the driver is obliged to give you a printed receipt on request (September, 2006).

Local transportation upon arrival at Skavsta Airport
Airport coaches leave Skavsta Airport regularly for the City Terminal in central Stockholm. The bus ride takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes and costs SEK 199 (one-way ticket as per September, 2006). Please visit www.flygbussarna.se for further information and time tables.

The local train station in Nyköping is 7 km away from Skavsta Airport. Take a taxi for a fixed price of SEK 140 or by the local bus no. 715 for approximately SEK 20 to/from the train station (September, 2006). The train ride from Nyköping to Stockholm Central Station takes approximately 1 hour. For timetable and prices please visit: www.sj.se

Taxis are available and the taxi journey to central Stockholm takes 1 hour. The price for the journey is approximately SEK 1 280.

Official Congress Organiser

Congrex Sweden AB has been appointed the official Congress organiser for this event. The Congrex Group works internationally with subsidiaries in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and the Americas as well as licensed partners throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
 

Badges
Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration. For security reasons all participants are requested to wear their badge during all the Congress activities and social events. (The cost for replacing a lost badge is SEK 250.)

Banks, Credit Cards and Currency Exchange
Banks are open between 09.30/10.00 and 15.00 on weekdays. Some banks in central Stockholm are open from 09.00 to 17.00. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops. It is advisable to carry an identity card or any form of photo identification.The official currency is Swedish Krona (SEK). USD 1 = SEK 7.10, EUR 1 = SEK 9.10 (November, 2006).

Certificate of Attendance
A certificate of attendance will be give to registered participants in their Congress bag.

Climate and Dress
The weather in Stockholm at this time of the year is usually warm and sunny with temperatures approximately 20-25 degrees Celsius; showers may occur. Informal dress is recommended.

Electricity
Electrical current in Sweden is 220 V/50 Hz. Round, European-style two-pin plugs are used. Appliances designed to operate on 110/120 Volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter.

Internet Café
An Internet café will be situated within the Congress venue.

Meals
Coffee is included in the registration fee and will be served daily. There will be selling points for sandwiches and snacks lunches within the exhibition area. There are also several lunch restaurants within the Stockholm International Fairs that will be open for delegates that want to purchase lunch.

On-site Registration in Stockholm
On-site registration and collection of Congress documents will start on 1 July, 2007. The registration desk and Congress secretariat is located at Stockholm International Fairs and will be open during the following hours:

Parking Facilities
There is a parking garage with are approximately 4000 parking lots. The cost is 20 SEK per hour and 60 SEK per day.

Passport, Visa and Invitation letter
Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to entering Sweden. Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to obtain a visa and authorization to attend the Congress, should contact the Congress secretariat at ivc17@congrex.com not later than 11 June, 2007. The invitation letter will be issued once the registration form and payment has been received by Congrex.

Shopping
Shops are normally open from 10.00-18.30 during weekdays. On Saturdays the opening hours are 10.00-17.00 and on Sundays most shops have shorter opening hours and some are closed. Usually the opening hours on Sundays are 12.00-16.00.

Time Zone
The time zone in Stockholm is GMT + 1 hour. Daylight Saving Time is used during the summer.

Tipping
A gratuity is included in the price of hotels and taxis. It is common to leave a tip of around 10%, however. When visiting restaurants, you can show your appreciation for good service by leaving a little extra.

VAT Refund Conditions
Swedish VAT, currently between 6% and 25% may be repaid to foreign enterprises, except banks and insurance companies, or companies providing health care or education.
