Reception at Stockholm City Hall, Monday 2 July From any part of Stockholm that lies south of lake Mälaren, one building dominates the skyline, the City Hall. A massive square tower rises from one corner of the elegant building which is made of decorated brickwork. The City Hall is the masterwork of the Swedish architect Ragnar Östberg who began to work with it in 1911 and devoted the next 12 years of his life to complete the City Hall. Every room in the City Hall has it’s own character and originality. The Blue Hall, the largest room in the building, is a manifestation in brickwork, and it is here that the Nobel Prize banquet takes place every 10th of December. The reception will be arranged by courtesy of the city of Stockholm and the County Council at Stockholm City Hall. The reception is held on Monday 2 July at 19.00. A buffet dinner will be served followed by a guided tour of the building. Please note that there are a limited number of tickets to the Reception and they will be distributed first-come, first-serve.
